GLIMNE'S GAMBLING ANECDOTE OF THE DAY

#234
Poker players will on occasion give in to the temptation to hustle each other in a side bet or two – but rarely has it been done more flagrantly than in this quite true story which took place not too long ago:
During a break in a big tournament, the Finnish high-limit player Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies and one of his friends take time to visit the men’s room. The friend heads for one of the stalls, while Sahamies takes a place by one of the urinals – by happenstance right next to a well-known European professional player. This results in Sahamies and the European professional agreeing to take a percentage of each other in the big tournament. The European professional then leaves the men’s room, whereupon Sahamies’ friend who has overheard the conversation comes storming out of his stall.
“How could you make a deal with that guy?? He has already been busted out of the tournament!!”
“Doesn’t matter”, Sahamies cooly replies, “I didn’t buy in for it anyway…”
